Walnut Creek Sister Cities International Spring Event
April 24, 2022, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
FreeWhile we were hoping to share news about the re-launch of the Youth Ambassador Exchange (YAE) program, with the uncertainty of the Russian-Ukranian war and the instability that brings to our sister cities, we need to once again put our plans on hold.
It is important to note that Sister Cities International was created by President Eisenhower’s in 1956 as organization that could be the hub of peace and prosperity by creating bonds between people from different cities around the world. By forming these relationships, he reasoned that people of different cultures could celebrate and appreciate their differences and build partnerships that would lessen the chance of new conflicts.
So it is with this spirit of promoting peace, that we’d like to gather as an organization to celebrate our sister cities and learn how we can collectively continue to promote our organizational mission which is:
Promote peace through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time
Please join us as we gather as a community to promote peace and bring a friend! All are welcome. We are reaching out to our sister cities on how we can support them in their humantarian efforts, and will share any information we have at this meeting.
We also want to encourage all past YAE!! alumni to attend. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with your YAE!! groups (parents too!).
Dessert and beverages will be provided (no charge).
WCSCI would like to thank Rick Callaway of Pacific Diversified Insurance Services for sponsoring this event. With his assistance we are able to offer this as a no charge event!
