On August 5 and 8, 2020, Sister Cities International organized an international bell ringing commemoration of the 75th anniversary of peace between the United States of America and Japan since the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The idea was to have U.S.-Japan sister cities ring bells at the exact dates and times the atomic bombs were dropped.
