The Yongsan-Sacramento Sister City Association joined communities across Korea in commemorating the March First Independence Movement, known in Korea as Samiljeol — one of the country’s most significant national observances. Held each year on March 1st, the day honors the 1919 nonviolent movement in which millions of Koreans peacefully called for self-determination, and it remains a powerful symbol of civic courage and the universal aspiration for freedom.

Alongside the commemoration, the association continued its commitment to education and mentorship by hosting its annual Resume Workshop for undergraduate students at UC Davis. Sister city members volunteered their time as mentors, offering career guidance and professional development support to the next generation of civic and community leaders.
